Programme Coordinator:

Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) an International educational organisation with offices in the south of Amsterdam (Vondel park area) is searching for a versatile and accurate administrator for 37,5 hours per week.

Starting date: As soon as possible 

We are looking for a computer literate person (minimum Word/FileMaker/Excel) with an excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken); other languages are an advantage, living in the Amsterdam region.

AMI is a global, not-for-profit organisation established by Maria Montessori in 1929 to maintain the integrity of her life's work. The organisation further supports and encourages quality expressions of Montessori principles in pursuit of social, educational, and humanitarian aims in countries throughout the world. Montessori is one of the most widely implemented educational approaches in the world with over 25,000 schools in more than 140 countries. The Montessori movement, however, is far broader and works to assist children, families, and adults in a variety of settings. Association Montessori Internationale is an umbrella organisation, with a worldwide network. The Head Office is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and has a team that currently consists of 15 staff members with an additional 5 staff members working remotely from Australia and America.

Role
The Programme Coordinator will play a key role in the Pedagogy Team. The role is multi-faceted and combines administration and coordination, relationship and community building as well as innovating and contributing to the development of new platforms and systems. The Programme Coordinator will collaborate closely with other members of the Pedagogy Team to ensure effective and efficient coordination of AMI’s core Programmes as well as related initiatives and projects. 

As the Programme Coordinator, you are the first point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders and will take the lead in processing requests as well as maintaining and organising records. You will also support the coordination of AMI Committees and Working Groups. As a member of the Pedagogy Team, you are expected to support other team members when required and participate in initiatives for pedagogical revision and development. This role will require you to be able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.

Responsibilities

As Programme Coordinator, Pedagogy Team it is your responsibility to ensure:

  • Efficient and accurate administration and coordination of relevant AMI Programmes, ensuring that all actions are taken in line with AMI policies;
  • The administration and coordination of AMI Training of Trainers’ Programmes is conducted in line with AMI policies, while providing support to both colleagues and the Community; 
  • Relevant course proposals are reviewed and responded to in agreed timeframes, and in accordance with processes to support quality assurance;
  • Relevant Committee meetings are organised (responsibilities Agenda, Minutes & Follow-up and coordination of action items; feedback & correspondence) and minutes taken accurately and in accordance with agreed timeframes; 
  • Efficient and professional coordination of relevant official Meetings, sending clear follow-up notes to staff, ensuring the recordings are available on the Trainers website and coordinate any relevant initiatives and working groups; 
  • The resolution of issues related to Trainers’, Training Centres and AMI Courses, through leading or supporting timely and professional responses aligned to AMI Policies. 
  • Up to date content is made available on the AMI Trainers Web-page;
  • General inquiries related to Montessori education are answered within agreed timeframes and in accordance with AMI guidelines and policies and the FAQs are regularly updated and accurate at any given time; 
  • Proper and timely administration of the Course Agreements; 
  • Accurate up-keep of the graduate data base;
  • Academic record requests are dealt with accurately and within a timely manner;
  • Team members and colleagues are supported where needed;
  • Generate solutions and ongoing improvements to all systems and processes related to the running of the Pedagogy Team 
  • That you play an active role in both supporting and leading initiatives and projects the pedagogy team has the lead for, or is involved in, leveraging planning, coordinating, communication skills to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with agreed processes and timelines; 

Key Qualities / Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Professional qualifications related to programme coordination, administration, management, IT 
  • Fluency in English (Cambridge level C1 B grade or equivalent)
