Then join us and become part of AMI’s diverse global team. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to enter the field of communications and gain experience in an international non-profit organisation. 

Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) is an NGO that was founded by Maria Montessori in 1929. AMI provides Montessori teacher training and professional development programmes and supports Montessori schools in curriculum development and quality assurance management, as well as in liaison with local educational authorities. It also supports several educational outreach initiatives worldwide. AMI is a membership-based organisation that hosts several major membership events throughout the year. It is represented by 39 Affiliated societies in 36 countries.

What you will do:

  • Support the communications team in creating engaging content (blog posts, social media content, podcasts, etc.) 
  • Publish content and ensure engagement on all AMI digital channels on a daily basis 
  • Support the communications team with planning and delivering campaigns 
  • Monitor and measure content performance across all digital channels and report back to the Communications Team Lead
  • Collaborate with all AMI teams to ensure excellent communication and integration of the overall communications planning 


  • You are registered as a Bachelor’s student or a Master’s student in Communication, Marketing, Media or Journalism at a Dutch university for the duration of the internship (HBO/WO level) 
  • You have an excellent command of English
  • You have experience in video and audio editing, creating and editing visuals (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, Adobe Audition, Canva)
  • You are creative, pro-active and structured
  • You are able to work independently
  • Affinity with education, non-profit organisations or fundraising is a plus

Bonus points: we would like you to bring something extra to the table, so we encourage you to add your digital communications portfolio that demonstrates your experience and skills in creating digital content.

Please note that an EU work permit is required (you must have EU Citizenship or a Dutch Study Visa).
