Qingdao Amerasia International School (QAIS) is seeking a qualified, experienced Lower Elementary Montessori Lead teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Lower Elementary Montessori Teacher will be leading a class of 6-9 year-olds. Teachers will be accountable for:

• Preparing a Montessori classroom environment that meets the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of an international student body.
• Encouraging children to develop self-sufficiency in a safe and nurturing environment.
• Providing a setting in which the children freely seek out and engage in activities that build the independence, confidence and love of learning that are essential to their development.
• Monitoring student progress using bi-annual assessment tools and adjusting instruction accordingly for each student.
• Maintaining excellent relationships with parents and care-takers through regular written and verbal communication, workshops, classroom information sessions and individual and group meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
• MACTE-endorsed Montessori certification (AMS or AMI preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal and record-keeping skills
• English mother tongue preferred
