In The 1946 London Lectures, Maria Montessori (1946) emphasised the importance of adaptation as the basis for education: “We must accept adaptation as the basis upon which we can build a concept of education” (p. 96), calling Montessorians to employ creative, innovative, and diverse approaches that address the universal human need to adapt to our time and place.
