Our focus was to continue to support the natural development of human beings from birth to maturity, enabling them to become the transforming agents in society leading to a more harmonious and peaceful world. Following the example of Maria Montessori, we continued to be guided by the children, continued in the preparation of adults committed to creating supportive environments and continued on our path of reform in education.

AMI produces a weekly digest of articles and resources on learning. It includes articles on Montessori education from around the world and ideas for activities for home learning while schools in many countries remain closed.

We would like to thank our AMI community for all of the work they are doing to help teachers and schools during these extraordinary times. We continue to seek ways to support those who are currently participating on AMI Courses around the world, and to respond to the needs of those who are facing different challenges due to the impact of Covid-19 in their communities.
On the 30th anniversary of the adoption of The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, AMI adds it voice to the wide support for the Convention, as a recognition of the foundational work of Maria Montessori in support of the rights of the child.
The 31st August 2020 will be 150 years since the birth of Maria Montessori. Montessori was ahead of her time in her research, educational approach and pioneering work for social reform.
