How important is it to have a 5 day a week program versus a 3 day a week program?

The typical school week is culturally determined. A five-day week with intervening ‘weekend’ is common but certainly not universal (nor is which days constitute that week). So, this cultural aspect must be a consideration. Beyond that, we value a consistent routine for the learner. Days in a row, more days in the school week, and more hours in those days, have been observed to offer more opportunities for a child’s learning and discovery, for extended engagement and essential social development and therefore, support a more effective implementation of Montessori education.
