Pioneer Montessori School is seeking an Assistant Teacher to aid the Lead Guide (head teacher) in many aspects of the classroom.

The role of the Assistant Teacher is to maintain the prepared classroom environment such that children may engage in self-directed learning, offering gentle guidance, as needed. The Lead Guide and the Assistant work as a team to provide an authentic Montessori experience where children grow socially, emotionally, and academically. A successful assistant must be, above all, respectful of the children, as well as calm and confident. They must be observant of what is happening throughout the classroom or play yard and attentive to the children’s needs, yet strive to encourage as much independence as possible. The assistant must be committed to learning about and practicing Montessori philosophy.
