TMIS, a small, family-run, Montessori school in Toyama, Japan, is growing! We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lower Elementary Guide to add to our team.

Our ideal candidate has an AMI Elementary diploma and three years of experience in a Montessori environment.

Responsibilities:

• Being the first ever elementary guide at our school
• Laying the groundwork for the success of our new elementary school.
• Developing and implementing child-led learning experiences
• Observing, documenting, and assessing children’s progress
• Communicating regularly with parents about their child’s development
• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with opportunities for additional duties and lessons if desired
• Collaborating with colleagues to foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment

Job Requirements

• AMI or equivalent certification in the appropriate age range or 3 years’ experience, teaching this age range in a Montessori environment.
• A bachelor’s degree or above
• Native or near-native level of English
• A deep understanding of and respect for the unique journey of each child.
