EsF 25: Outcomes of Educateurs sans Frontières Assemblies
AMI’s Educateurs sans Frontieres (EsF) turned 25 this year! To celebrate this important milestone, we introduce two of its many initiatives that contribute to social change in the most vulnerable regions.
Horme emerged as a network of projects and social programmes after the 2019 EsF Assembly in the city of Tepoztlán, Mexico. It includes a network of projects and social programmes that seeks to generate social impact through the Montessori philosophy through all the Mexican Republic. Horme aims to help and support as many children and adults as possible, including populations in vulnerable situations, indigenous communities, and individuals deprived of liberty. It also supports inclusive education programmes and the expansion of Montessori in public education.
Help us Transform Lives through Montessori Education in East Pokot
The East Pokot Montessori Initiative was established by AMI in 2020, building on the success of Corner of Hope. Its aim is to support young people from the remote and under-resourced East Pokot region in Kenya to train as Montessori teachers. The teachers then establish a supportive learning environment for children to learn in.
So far, 14 teachers have completed their certificate training and have set up 5 Montessori classrooms, and over 600 children now have access to quality Montessori education. Parents are seeing the impact of Montessori education and many requests are coming in for Montessori teachers and classrooms.
Your donations will go towards mentorship visits, additional Montessori materials, classroom furniture, and community workshops to raise awareness about child development and Montessori principles.
