International Trainers Meeting, Chennai

We have just completed the International Meeting of Association Montessori Internationale Trainers in Chennai, but Maria Montessori has a long history with India going back many years. An official delegate from the princely Government of Mysore attended the First International Montessori Training Course in Rome in 1913.  

Then, Maria and Mario Montessori’s first visit to the country saw them land at Adyar in south Chennai on 4 November, 1939.  We plan to celebrate that anniversary with a few more posts during this week. 

Our India affiliate India Montessori Foundation is working with a broad coalition of Montessori organisations in India with the aim of training a million adults in Montessori education.  We have added new training capacity and now offer training from locations in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai with more planned.
