Transforming Education Summit

Saturday 15th October 2022

The United Nations Transforming Education Summit took place in New York on 16, 17 and 19 September 2022. It introduced Thematic Action Tracks — key levers to transform education by focusing on specific areas that need attention. Action Tracks seek to mobilise new commitments, by highlighting policy interventions that work, and leveraging existing initiatives and partnerships, including those that emerged in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Transforming Education Summit was convened in response to a global crisis in education – one of equity and inclusion, quality and relevance. Often slow and unseen, this crisis is having a devastating impact on the futures of children and youth worldwide and has been further exacerbated due to the pandemic.

AMI representative to the UN, Evelyn Greenberg, attended and widely shared an AMI handout outlining Montessori Education and highlighting AMI Digital resources to promote education inclusion. Montessori resources can be helpful when combating the crisis in education, particularly in the case of literacy rates.
