How do we maintain a library in children’s casa? Any practical ideas, recommendations, and resources?

Generally, we do not have a library in a Children’s Casa. We have a “reading corner” with one or two comfortable chairs, a small bookshelf holding around 10-15 books, ideally with a book spine or front cover visible, and perhaps a small lamp. Books can be rotated using a larger school library or using books on loan from a public library.

One way of increasing the school’s library is to have a holiday book sale in collaboration with a local bookstore. Parents are given a list of books desired for a particular class; books can be purchased by parents to use as gifts from the child to the class. In this case, bookplates should be made available so that a child’s contribution of the book “on their birthday” to the class library could be noted.
